The idea of Float, the proposal for RIVA1920 is a formal reinterpretation of the first woodworking gesture.
Man's primitive act in front of the tree is that of cutting. It is the phase that begins, or if you like precedes, woodworking. Float's design is an attempt at a contemporary reinterpretation of this first gesture, a recollection of the image of the cut trunk, attached to the ground, a sign of man's passage on earth and from which everything originates.
