holiday home GM+VM
An Elementary School Becomes a Holiday Home: An Example of Land Recovery and Enhancement. In the heart of the countryside of Morro d'Alba, a small village renowned for its Lacrima wine, a historic primary school has been transformed into a charming holiday home. This project is a perfect example of architectural recovery and valorisation of the local heritage, integrating harmoniously into the surrounding environment and offering a unique experience to visitors. In fact, energy efficiency systems, such as solar panels and thermal insulation, have been adopted to reduce the environmental impact of the structure. Furthermore, a large part of the materials used for the renovation come from local suppliers, helping to support the local economy.
an architectural recovery project.
The structure, once dedicated to the education of the youngest children, has undergone a masterly renovation. The interventions have respected the building's historical identity, preserving original elements such as the exposed beams, terracotta floors and large windows that flood the spaces with natural light. However, modern comforts have been introduced to guarantee guests a pleasant and relaxing stay.
Holiday home GM+VM is spread over two levels. On the ground floor are the communal areas, designed to encourage socialisation among guests. Here you can find a relaxation room, a shared kitchen and an area dedicated to events or recreational activities. The simple but well-kept furnishings recall the rustic style of the Marche tradition, creating a cosy and familiar atmosphere. On the upper floor are elegant suites, each with a private bathroom and tastefully furnished. The rooms offer a breathtaking view of the surrounding hills, giving guests moments of peace and tranquillity. Each suite has been designed to ensure privacy and comfort, combining modern design elements with details that recall the building's past.
an immersive experience in the marche.
The strategic location of the holiday home allows visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of the Marche region. Morro d'Alba is famous for its Lacrima wine, and numerous wineries in the area offer tastings and guided tours. Moreover, the village is surrounded by hiking trails that cross enchanting hilly landscapes, ideal for those who love nature and outdoor activities. The facility also organises activities for guests, such as traditional cooking classes, food and wine tours and craft workshops. These experiences allow guests to discover local traditions and come into contact with the local community.
The transformation of the primary school in Morro d'Alba into a holiday home is a virtuous example of how it is possible to combine the recovery of historical heritage with sustainable tourism development. This initiative not only enhances a building steeped in historical memory, but also offers visitors a unique opportunity to discover the beauty of the Marche region in an authentic and welcoming context. Thanks to projects like this, tourism becomes a tool for preserving the cultural identity of territories and promoting harmonious and environmentally friendly development.
